Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Central, Jacksonville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the New Bern Bears 68-21. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 25 points or more this season.

Jacksonville was led to victory by Kelize Velez-Galan and Izabella Hernandez. Velez-Galan posted 22 points and five steals, while Hernandez had 18 points and three steals. Hernandez's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destini Benton, who put up six points along with six steals and five boards.

Jacksonville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive contests.
