Godwin took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Patrick Henry Patriots as the Godwin Eagles made off with an 11-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Katelyn Hubley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Hubley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Godwin got a big performance out of Bella Ross, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Gabrielle Coleman was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Godwin hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Godwin will challenge Mechanicsville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Patrick Henry, they will take on Goochland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
