Tillman Huish commands the offense for a Tigers win

Recap: Gilbert Tigers vs. Westwood Warriors

The Gilbert Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 25 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Westwood on Friday as Gilbert made off with a 67-42 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-16.

Gilbert's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tillman Huish, who scored ten points along with seven assists and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for Huish. Another player making a difference was Gus Cardon, who scored 15 points.

Gilbert's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Westwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert will take on Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Mesquite is ranked 18th, while Gilbert is ranked 30th). As for Westwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cesar Chavez at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cesar Chavez is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.5 points per game.
