Baseball Recap: Hialeah Educational Academy Wins Going Away Against Sunset

Hialeah Educational Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Sunset on Wednesday. The Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie put the hurt on the Sunset Knights with a sharp 10-1 victory.

JOSHUA CARDOSO was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Hialeah Educational Academy let JOSE AVILES and ANDREW PEREZ loose on the outfield. AVILES scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while PEREZ scored a run while going 2-for-3. BRIAN BOLANOS was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Hialeah Educational Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0-1. As for Sunset, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Hialeah Educational Academy will head out on the road to face off against Brito at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sunset, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Somerset Academy at 4:00 p.m.
