Soccer Game Preview: Show Low vs. Blue Ridge

The Show Low Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Show Low is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Highland Prep West, who was ranked second at the time (Show Low was ranked tenth). The Cougars fell just short of the HORNETS by a score of 1-0 last Thursday. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Show Low's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Blue Ridge had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it five last Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Roadrunners a 9-0 shutout. Considering Blue Ridge have won seven contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Holbrook from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Camryn Fielding led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Blue Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Show Low, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
