Basketball Recap: Kodiak Comes Up Short

Kodiak lost against Barrow back in February of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Kodiak Bears were beaten by the Barrow Whalers 70-9. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Whalers are ranked 16th).

Kodiak is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15. As for Barrow, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Kodiak has already played their next matchup (against Tournament Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Barrow, they will welcome Kotzebue on February 21st. Barrow knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Kotzebue likes a good challenge.
