Baseball Recap: Bradford Triumphs

Bradford took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Interlachen, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bradford Tornadoes skirted past the Interlachen Rams 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tornadoes have posted since February 20th.

Avery Burgin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Burgin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nehemiah Flowers, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

With the win, Bradford broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-6. As for Interlachen, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

Coming up, Bradford will welcome Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gainesville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Interlachen, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastside at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th. Interlachen is facing Eastside at the right time seeing as Eastside is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
