Basketball Recap: Warren Find Success

On Monday, the Warren Warriors escaped with a win against the Belpre Golden Eagles by the margin of a single free throw, 43-42.

Mackenzie James-McGuire continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 15 on her way to 17 points and eight boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Warren's points.

Belpre lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gracie Bills, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Bills a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Shyanna Miller, who posted 11 points and three steals.

Warren's record is now 8-5. As for Belpre, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 8-5.

Warren wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-36 defeat against Fort Frye on the 23rd. As for Belpre, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-35 victory against Southern on the 23rd.
