Softball Recap: Hale Ray Has No Trouble Against Coginchaug Regional

After losing to Coginchaug Regional the last time they met, Hale Ray decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Noises put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 10-3 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Noises.

Lily Jahne made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Those 18 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Briella Dean was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Faith Kalisz, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Hale Ray was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coginchaug Regional only posted a batting average of .185.

Hale Ray's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Coginchaug Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Hale Ray didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-6 victory against Berlin on the 10th. As for Coginchaug Regional, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Westbrook on the 9th.
