Basketball Recap: Kelseyville's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Kelseyville and Sonoma Valley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Kelseyville had to settle for second. They took a hard 76-61 fall against the Sonoma Valley Dragons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 77-48 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2020.

Sonoma Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hudson Giarritta out in front who shot 55% from the field on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds. Giarritta's big performance that evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vinny Girish, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

Kelseyville's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points over those games. As for Sonoma Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-15 record this season.

Kelseyville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sonoma Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Woodland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Woodland Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 23 games.
