Soccer Recap: Yuma Catholic Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Yuma Catholic couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Gilbert Christian Knights by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 back in December of 2024.

Yuma Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Gilbert Christian, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gilbert Christian beat Yuma Catholic by a score of 2-1 later that day.
