Baseball Game Preview: Purvis Tornadoes vs. Sumrall Bobcats

Purvis and Sumrall are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2023, but likely not for long. The Purvis Tornadoes will welcome the Sumrall Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Purvis is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Sumrall 16-7 on Tuesday. Considering the Tornadoes have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kade Lawler looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, JoJo Parker was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hudson Walker, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Sumrall and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Purvis, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
