SouthWest Edgecombe had already won 17 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37.4 points) and they went ahead and made it 18 on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tarboro Vikings 66-9. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-2.

SouthWest Edgecombe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but A'Chonacey Mabry led the charge by going 6-for-9 to rack up 12 points and seven steals. Mabry is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 56% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Whitehead, who went 7-for-10 en route to 16 points.

SouthWest Edgecombe's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points over those games. As for Tarboro, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
