Softball Game Recap: North Florida Christian Eagles vs. Leon Lions

North Florida Christian had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 9-5 to make it four. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 15-2.

As for Leon, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games.

For Leon's part, the result came thanks to Lamonika Sims's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Jailyn Nickeo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

North Florida Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-3 win against Taylor County on the 14th. As for Leon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-1 victory against Mosley on the 11th.
