Softball Recap: Prairie Du Chien Extends Winning Streak to Two

The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks came out on top against the La Crosse Central Riverhawks on Monday by a score of 9-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blackhawks.

The team relied heavily on Rita Achenbach, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Irelynd Cejka, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Prairie du Chien's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for La Crosse Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Coming up, Prairie du Chien will venture away from home to square off against Lancaster at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blackhawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flying Arrows have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for La Crosse Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Onalaska at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Riverhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
