Baseball Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova lost against Memphis Central back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wolves came up short against the Warriors, falling 11-2. The match marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cordova saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Kirkland, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That hit was Kirkland's first of the season. Logan Chapman was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Cordova's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for Memphis Central, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Coming up, Cordova will square off against First Assembly Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Memphis Central, they will host Kingsbury at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
