Basketball Recap: Spur Bulldogs vs. Paducah Dragons
Spur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 58-33 to the Paducah Dragons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-34 on January 7th.
Paducah got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maverick Monroe out in front who posted 26 points. The dominant performance gave Monroe a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Garibaldi, who scored 16 points.
Spur's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Paducah, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Spur will host Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Spur surely won't give up without a fight. As for Paducah, they will head out on the road to face off against Guthrie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Guthrie is on a three-game streak of home wins, Paducah a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
