Softball Recap: Polytechnic Takes a Loss

Polytechnic lost against Flintridge Prep back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 9-8.

Brynn Connolly was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Eila Chan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Polytechnic has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Flintridge Prep, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Polytechnic will venture away from home to face off against Rio Hondo Prep at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Kares have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Flintridge Prep, they will challenge Providence at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
