Recap: North Branford Thunderbirds vs. Morgan Huskies
The North Branford Thunderbirds lost against the Morgan Huskies back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. North Branford took a hard 72-54 fall against Morgan. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Branford in their matchups with Morgan: they've now lost three in a row.
Morgan was led to victory by Ava Johnson and Maeve Madura. Johnson shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Madura scored 27 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Madura has scored all season. Liliana Luciani was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
North Branford's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Morgan, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
North Branford will take on East Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Hampton will roll in looking for their 21st straight victory, something North Branford surely won't give up without a fight. As for Morgan, they will head out on the road to take on Valley Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Morgan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
