Basketball Recap: Mia Johnson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat East

There's no place like home for Skyline, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 42-37 win over the East Leopards on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Skyline's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Johnson, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Leelu Bare, who had seven points along with nine rebounds and six assists.

East lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nora Amidbakarr, who scored seven points and 25 boards. Amidbakarr has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Aundrea Dennett was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Skyline's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for East, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing West the next time they take the court. East will head out to face West at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Skyline will host them at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
