Hilbert extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-9 in the process. They came up short against the Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers, falling 15-5. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lancers earlier this season, when they won 11-3.
Hilbert saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Keuler, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
As for Manitowoc Lutheran, the win got them back to even at 5-5. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
On Manitowoc Lutheran's side, Isaiah Hochmuth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hochmuth also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Manitowoc Lutheran is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Hochmuth was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. That hit marked the first that he has got this season.
In other pitching news, Aaden Krause looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Haupt, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joel Voigt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Hilbert is taking a road trip to square off against Reedsville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manitowoc Lutheran, they will be playing at home against Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers are facing the Blazers at the right time seeing as the Blazers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
