Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence lost against Memorial back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Knights came up short against the Warriors, falling 18-5. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Megan McCADDEN was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Kamryn BLOODWORTH also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Memorial, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-9.

Coming up, Independence will welcome Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redhawks have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Memorial, they are taking a road trip to take on Emerson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mavericks have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
