Softball Recap: Scituate Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Warwick, Scituate was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the South Kingstown Rebels by a score of 9-5. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rebels, too.

Sofia Melia was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Adreana Laninfa was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Scituate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Scituate's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for South Kingstown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scituate will host Mt. Hope at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Kingstown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prout at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
