Basketball Recap: Alaya Clemons and Kahrin Highsmith Secure Win for J.H. Rose

After losing to Fike the last time they met, J.H. Rose decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rampants walked away with a 48-37 win over the Golden Demons on Thursday. The game was the first time the Rampants have beaten the Golden Demons on their court since December 10, 2019.

J.H. Rose was led to victory by Kahrin Highsmith and Alaya Clemons. Highsmith dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Clemons posted 20 points and five steals. Those 18 points gave Highsmith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Atiana Winfield, who put up nine boards.

The victory got J.H. Rose back to even at 1-1. As for Fike, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, J.H. Rose will head out to take on North Brunswick at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fike, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against East Wake at 6:00 p.m.
