Softball Recap: Winona Takes a Loss

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-1 to the Alton Comets. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 18-1 to the Comets when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Alton, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Winona's pitchers better be ready for this one: Licking has averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Alton, they will square off against Mountain Grove at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
