Softball Game Preview: Wheeling Wildcats vs. Hersey Huskies

Wheeling hasn't had much luck against Hersey recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Huskies at 4:45 p.m. Wheeling has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wheeling came up short against Prospect on Wednesday, falling 24-4.

Viansa Pollina made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Hersey had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bison. Considering the Huskies have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hersey's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Wheeling, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
