If PikeView was riding high fresh off their 49-0 takedown of Wyoming East last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The PikeView Panthers fell 20-13 to the Poca The Dots on Friday.
PikeView lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Braydon Mullins, who rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown. PikeView also got a significant boost from Peyton Mounts, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Preston Bonnett and Spencer Jones. Bonnett gained 167 total yards and two touchdowns while Jones rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown. What's more, Bonnett also racked up 102 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September.
PikeView's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Poca, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5.
PikeView wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 41-13 defeat against Nicholas County on the 8th. Poca has also already played their next match, a 51-13 loss against Sherman on the 8th.
