Baseball Recap: Plumstead Christian's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Plumstead Christian came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the MAST Community Charter Panthers. Plumstead Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Declan Glass made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Phil Young was excellent, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Plumstead Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive games.

Plumstead Christian pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for MAST Community Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.
