Basketball Recap: Sidwell Friends Wins High-Profile Contest Against Mt. Zion Prep Academy

Sidwell Friends is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Mt. Zion Prep Academy. The Sidwell Friends Quakers managed a 49-45 win over the Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors.

Sidwell Friends got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ian Condon out in front who went 8 of 12 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. Condon has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jalyn Collingwood, who posted 14 points and six boards.

Sidwell Friends is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-4.

Sidwell Friends wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-27 win against Maret on the 6th. Mt. Zion Prep Academy has also already played their next contest (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
