Sunnyslope posted their closest victory since March 27, 2024 on Wednesday. They skirted past the Basha Bears 3-2. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sunnyslope took Basha into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 23-25, 16-14.

Mickey Gerdes paced Sunnyslope's offense, picking up 19 kills. Gerdes got some help from Mason Cooley and his 44 assists. Cooley was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

The win made it two in a row for Sunnyslope and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for Basha, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.

Sunnyslope has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Corona del Sol on the 17th. As for Basha, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Perry on the 17th.
