Baseball Recap: Montville Comes Up Short

Montville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Morris Catholic Crusaders. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.

Nico Companion and Andre Milciukas did some serious damage despite the final result: Companion went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Milciukas went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was B O'Neil, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Montville's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Morris Catholic, they moved to 8-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montville will host Randolph at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Morris Catholic, they will be playing at home against The Pingry School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
