Football Recap: Grafton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Gloucester last Thursday, Grafton came back down to earth. The Clippers were outmatched by the Poquoson Islanders and fell 45-10. While losing is never fun, the Clippers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Islanders are ranked 85th).

Grafton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jshon Teague, who picked up 127 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Ahmad Diggs, who picked up 96 receiving yards. Xzavieon Hendricks was another key player, having thrown for 289 yards and onetouchdown.

Grafton's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Poquoson, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grafton will host Tabb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Poquoson, they will be playing at home against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' defense has only allowed seven points per game this season, so the Islanders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
