Softball Game Preview: Hialeah Thoroughbreds vs. American Patriots

Hialeah is 0-10 against American since February of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Hialeah Thoroughbreds will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the American Patriots at 3:00 p.m. Hialeah has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Hialeah is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 20-11 margin over TERRA Environmental on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Thoroughbreds in their matchups with TERRA Environmental: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Kailen Carrasco, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Jennifer Gonzalez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hialeah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, American has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 11-3 to St. Brendan.

American saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Harrison, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

American dropped their record down to 4-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hialeah, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
