Basketball Game Preview: Monmouth United Red Storm vs. Stark County Rebels

The Monmouth United Red Storm will face off against the Stark County Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Monmouth United is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Wethersfield just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Flying Geese by a score of 43-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Red Storm have suffered since February 12, 2024.

Meanwhile, Stark County ended up a good deal behind Annawan on Monday and lost 57-40. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Braves/Bravettes recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Stark County's loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Monmouth United, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 21-3.

Monmouth United strolled past Stark County in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 47-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monmouth United since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
