Baseball Recap: William Byrd Comes Up Short

William Byrd was the 4-3 winner over Northside when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Terriers took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Friday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Cannin Lutz made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jacob Courtemanche also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

William Byrd's record now sits at 3-5. As for Northside, their record is now 6-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. William Byrd will square off against Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northside, they will take on Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
