Softball Recap: Hilliard Red Flashes vs. Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles        
        
		
            
 Hilliard lost a close one when they played  last Friday but unfortunately for them the  loss they were handed  on Monday was a bit more commanding. They fell victim to a  tough 14-5 defeat at the hands of the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles. Hilliard was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Paxon School For Advanced Studies apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2023.
  Molly Dean made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Peighton Self, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 On Paxon School For Advanced Studies' side,  Haley Hinds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. Hinds has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than six  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Kassidy Edwards was  incredible,  going 5-for-5 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.  Emma Ponsler was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Hilliard are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 9-9. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, their victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 13-7.
 Hilliard will head out on the road to  face off against  Providence School at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Hilliard is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.8  runs per game  this season. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they will head out on the road to  take on  Bishop Kenny at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Bishop Kenny's pitching crew has only allowed four  runs per game  this season, so Paxon School For Advanced Studies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
