Soccer Game Preview: Ashland vs. Norwayne

The Ashland Arrows will head out on the road to square off against the Norwayne Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Ashland's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Mansfield Senior as they made off with a 4-0 victory. Ashland haven't had any issues with Mansfield Senior recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Ashland used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Mansfield Senior. And. Layne Martin made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Norwayne, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Hillsdale 5-1 on Tuesday. Casee Schaffer was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Ashland's victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1. As for Norwayne, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Ashland was able to grind out a solid victory over Norwayne when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Arrows since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
