Softball Recap: Clear Lake Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Butler, Clear Lake was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the St. Edmond Gaels 6-5. While the Lions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Clear Lake is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for St. Edmond, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 9-3 record.

Clear Lake has already played their next match, an 18-4 loss against Central Springs on the 10th. As for St. Edmond, they will challenge Algona at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Gaels surely won't give up without a fight.
