Soccer Recap: West Iredell Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Iredell's offense. They lost 9-0 to the Hickory Red Tornadoes on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, West Iredell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Hickory are ranked 19th).

West Iredell has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Hickory, they pushed their record up to 14-1-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

While West Iredell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
