Baseball Game Recap: Attica Red Ramblers vs. Seeger Patriots

Attica extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-16-1 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-0 to the Seeger Patriots, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Red Ramblers were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Seeger, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Seeger's part, Xavier Lang was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Lang has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Seeger is undefeated when Lang posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Ryder Hannon and Peyton Grimmett did most of the damage at the plate: Hannon went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Grimmett went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Grimmett a new career-high. Macyn Hughes was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Seeger will square off against Twin Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Attica will be paying especially close attention to Seeger's contest: after Seeger faces off against Twin Lakes, they'll take on Attica again at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
