Basketball Recap: Wharton's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Wharton dropped to 1-2 on Tuesday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They fell 70-66 to the Terry Rangers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rangers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Wharton still got an impressive performance from Ja'Keon Jackson, who almost dropped a triple-double with 18 points, 12 boards, and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Ki'Sean Kimble, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Terry's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Terry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Louis Gomez, who shot 86% from the field on his way to 13 points and seven boards. Gomez continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. John Humphrey was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points.

Wharton has already played their next matchup, a 57-30 loss against Stafford on the 2nd. As for Terry, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Barbers Hill at 1:30 p.m. on the 5th.
