Softball Recap: Duncanville Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Duncanville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mesquite Skeeters a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers and Pantherettes, who have now won 19 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Brianna Vann, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jacie Patterson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Duncanville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Mesquite, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-13-1 record.

Coincidentally, Duncanville and Mesquite will both be playing Waxahachie the next time they take the field. The Skeeters will host the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers and Pantherettes will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
