Baseball Recap: Center Comes Up Short

Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Diana Eagles.

Zy Barnes was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

At the plate, Center saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trenton Stockwell, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. TJ Belin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Center's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for New Diana, their record now sits at 4-1.

Coming up, Center is taking a road trip to face off against Jasper at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. New Diana does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
