Basketball Recap: Holbrook Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ganado on Tuesday, Holbrook came back down to earth. The Roadrunners fell just short of the Seton Catholic Sentinels by a score of 59-56 on Friday. The Roadrunners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sentinels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

Seton Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kj Fauske led the charge by going 8-for-19 en route to 23 points and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fauske has scored at least a third of the Sentinels' points. Asthon Ries was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards.

Holbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Seton Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coincidentally, Holbrook and Seton Catholic will both be playing Scottsdale Christian Academy the next time they take the court. The Roadrunners will head out to face the Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Sentinels will play them later in the day, at 1:30 p.m.
