PONCA CITY, Okla. -
Union (Tulsa, Okla.) extended its winning streak to eight games with a 56-12 victory over Ponca City (Okla.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Redskins were up 42-0 at the half.
Union grew its lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. UHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by
Ricky Rivera to
Holton Fox.
The Redskins raced to 28 in the first quarter alone and kept up the pace for the win.
Union's most effective player was
Jeffery Mead. The senior wide receiver caught two touchdowns. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
Union had given up an average of 16.6 points prior to the contest. Ponca City's 12 points were well above their season average of 4.9 per game.
UHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 47-0.
