Softball Game Preview: East Carter Raiders vs. Bath County Wildcats

East Carter has won eight straight games at home, while Bath County has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Raiders will host the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (East Carter 3.2, Bath County 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, East Carter got the win against Portsmouth West by a conclusive 11-3. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Bath County posted their closest win since April 12th on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Fleming County 6-5. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Bath County's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for East Carter, their win bumped their record up to 25-4.

East Carter might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Bath County when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
