Mankato West entered their tilt with New Ulm on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Scarlets, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mankato West's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for New Ulm, they moved to 11-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Mankato West will venture away from home to take on Winona at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Ulm, they will face off against Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.8, the Tigers 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
