 After a string of five wins, Piedmont Hills's good fortune finally ran out  on Friday. They took  a  6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silver Creek Raiders. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Piedmont Hills in their matchups with Silver Creek: they've now lost three in a row.
  Ava Martinez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-3 with a  triple and a  run. Another player making a difference was  Karime Pacheco Carranza, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
 Even though they lost, Piedmont Hills  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with nine  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver Creek only tossed four.
 On Silver Creek's side,  Lexy Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on six hits. Garcia has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Kaylani Lim was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles.
 Piedmont Hills' loss  ended  a  five-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 10-4. As for Silver Creek,  the  win  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 3-9.
 Piedmont Hills will head out on the road to  take on  Oak Grove at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Piedmont Hills is facing Oak Grove at the right time seeing as Oak Grove is stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak. As for Silver Creek, they will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Prospect at 4:00  p.m. Silver Creek has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
