Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Rocky River's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Rocky River's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 46-34 win over the North Olmsted Eagles. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Rocky River got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Dewey out in front who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Lang, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Despite the loss, North Olmsted still got an impressive performance from Rose Lane, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 11 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lane a new career-high in points.

Rocky River has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for North Olmsted, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Rocky River will venture away from home to face off against Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Olmsted, they will host Normandy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
