Basketball Game Preview: Community Braves vs. Sunnyvale

Community is 0-10 against Sunnyvale since January of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The Community Braves will host Sunnyvale at 12:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Community turned things around against Ford on Tuesday. They walked away with a 36-26 victory over the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Sunnyvale came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Foxes 73-29. With Sunnyvale ahead 41-19 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Sunnyvale is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Community, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 15-9.

Community was dealt a bruising 80-27 defeat at the hands of Sunnyvale when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Community was down 43-9.
